Run a local web server, easily

Have you ever wondered how to test your PHP (for instance) files locally? Well I never did, till I found XAMP. It is a great tool to quickly install on your computer with no hassle Apache, MySQL, PHP + PEAR, Perl… There are different distributions for Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Solaris.

It became essential for me to test Flex services without having to upload every time the files. To do so, you just need to add the path to XAMP in your flex project ->Flex server settings.

Please note that XAMP uses port 80, so if you are already are using that port (it’s the default one for Skype) it will not work.
